Special Event Assistance
Volunteers are needed at a variety of city-sponsored, regularly-scheduled special events including the Freedom Festival, 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, Spooky Lagoon, Grasshopper Olympics, Turkey Trot, family festivals, etc. If you are interested in participating, please contact Gabe Huff at (530) 225-4111 or ghuff@ci.redding.ca.us
Office Work
A volunteer is needed to conduct a phone survey of current and past Recreation program participants, approximately two-four hours per week during the work day at the Recreation Office.
Volunteers are needed periodically to assist during preparation for events to answer phones or work on the computer at the Recreation Office or in City Hall.
Photographer
A photographer is needed to provide digital photos of various Recreation programs and events, for use on the city's web page and in print materials.
If you are interested in volunteering for these opportunities, please contact Peter Griggs at (530) 225-4095 or pgriggs@ci.redding.ca.us
Art Installation / Reception Assistance
Volunteers are vital to our thrice-yearly art exhibits, from assisting the artists with installation of the artwork to greeting guests at the evening reception, serving refreshments, assisting with set-up and clean-up. Receptions and art hanging are held three times per year in the early evening. Some training is required. We would want someone willing to make a commitment of at least one year. If you are interested in an opportunity to become an active participant in the city's cultural life, please contact Sarah Sheetz at 225-4512 or kniemer@ci.redding.ca.us
