Youth Basketball League
Boys and Girls 3rd-8th grade
Skill development, fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, participation and fun are stressed in this league. Participants play one-half of every game from tip off. Practices will begin the middle of December as arranged by coaches. There is a maximum of two practices and a minimum of one practice allowed per week prior to league games beginning, and a maximum of one practice per week once league games begin. Practices may begin December 12 as arranged by team coach. Games will be scheduled January 6-February 25.
There is a mandatory player evaluation for team selection in Hot Shots and Super Stars divisions. Players will be rated during an assessment practice on sport specific skills (dribbling, shooting, passing, and agility). Equitable teams will be created from the player assessment results via a draft. Obtain evaluation appointment at time of registration. Space is limited, sign up now!
Fee: $60.00 and includes a program shirt.

Hoopsters
3rd/4th boys and 3rd/4th girls
Scores and standings will not be kept. Games are played on a full court regulation size basketball hoop, with a youth basketball, 28.5. For instructional purposes, two referees are assigned to each game that will explain to the players why a call is made and show how to avoid it. Four 8 minute quarters with a running clock. No back court pressure or trapping at mid-court, and no free throws awarded on shooting fouls.
There is no player evaluation or draft for this league, teams are divided based on requests and school attending.
League games will be held on Saturdays at Alta Mesa School gym

Hot Shots
5th/6th boys and 5th/6th girls
Timer, scorer and two referees are assigned to each game. Running clock except for free throws, time-outs, injuries, emergencies, and the last two minutes of the 2nd and 4th quarters. No back court pressure except the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter. Shots taken from the three point territory will only be scored as two points. A 28.5 ball will be used. League games for the girls division will be held on Fridays, at Alta Mesa School gym. League game for the boys division will be held on Saturdays, at Turtle Bay School gym.
There is a mandatory player evaluation for team selection in this league. Obtain appointment card at time of registration.
Girls skills evaluation

Super Stars
7th/8th boys and 7th/8th girls

No back court pressure except the last 2 minutes of the 2nd and 4th quarter. Three point shots are allowed. A 28.5 ball is used in the girls division and a 30 inch ball is used in the boys division. League games for the girls division will be held on Saturdays, at Turtle Bay School gym. League games for the boys division will be held on Saturdays, at Juniper Academy gym.
There is a mandatory player evaluation for team selection in this league. Obtain appointment card at time of registration.
